31 NiBS students attend summer management Program in Zurich, Switzerland
NiBS as part of its program offerings organizes Summer management training programs for its student body each year. This year’s weeklong program was held at the new campus of the affiliate partner, SBS Swiss Business School in Zurich, Switzerland. The aim of the trip was to give the students a great learning experience and to introduce them to new management trends and practices, especially for the emerging economies. The program was organized from 15th July to 21st July. The program was facilitated by Professor Tatiana Volkova, a renowned entrepreneurship and innovation expert from Latvia.
This year’s Summer program effectively combined theoretical knowledge and practical insights on a wide array of management topics to expose students to trending issues in organizational leadership and innovation. Aside the classroom component which had management games and break out sessions, students had the opportunity to visit 2 top Swiss manufacturing companies in Basel. The first company visited was Roche Pharmaceuticals – one of the world’s leading manufacturers of self-care and diagnostic pharmaceuticals products with over 60 billion sales in 2017/2018. The second company is the Carlsberg/ Feldschlosschen – one of the oldest breweries in Europe. The idea behind taking the student to these companies was to introduce them to the operational and management complexity of running a world class business in Europe.
Many of the Summer program participants who are drawn from the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and EMBA student body at NiBS expressed satisfaction as they had value for their money. Dr. Livingstone Divine Caesar, Director of the DBA Program at NiBS and Mr. Daniel Appiah, Senior Research Fellow led the students to Zurich for the Summer management training program.
