Franchise – NiBS University may license other institutions to deliver whole programs or stages of programs, leading to an award or the award of credit by NiBS-U.
 
Joint – A program developed jointly with at least one other institution, which may also have degree or certificate awarding powers, leading to a NIBS-U award or a degree awarded jointly by the institutions.
 
Validation – NIBS-U may accredit a program developed by another institution as equivalent to a NIBS-U award or leading to the award of a specific number of credits.
 
Double award – NiBS-U and one or more other awarding institution(s) provide a joint program leading to awards of both or all institutions. Students are awarded two (or more) certificates, one from each of the degree-awarding bodies involved.
 Articulation – An arrangement whereby programs and modules delivered by a partner institution are formally recognized for advanced standing towards a NIBS-U award. Under such an arrangement, NiBS-U agrees to acknowledge and grant specific credit to applicants from a named program of study pursued in the partner institution. NiBS-U does not have the right to refuse admission to a student who has fulfilled the agreed conditions for entry.
