Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah is a successful International Corporate Business Executive with experience in Strategy and Business Leadership in Banking, Finance and Taxation. He is currently the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah started his career in the public service with the Ghana Statistical Service as an Assistant Statistician before joining Standard Chartered Bank.

Dr. Owusu-Amoah held various roles at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana from 1993 to 2006. These include Business Support Manager, Head of Credit Risk Control West Africa and later Head of Operations and Technology.

From Standard Chartered Bank, he also worked as the Group Head of Operations for Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), responsible for ensuring that efficient policy and procedures existed for all facets of Ecobank Group operations and across all the countries where the bank operates. He was instrumental in setting up the Ecobank Operations and Technology hub in Ghana from scratch, known as eProcess International. He has worked in various capacities over the past several years as Managing Director and CEO of UniBank Ghana Limited (2007-2011), Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Africa, Tanzania (2011-2018),

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Sociology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a Masters’s Degree in Business Administration from the Henley Management College UK, a Masters’s Degree in Applied Research from the Swiss Business School, a Master of Arts Degree from the Trinity Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Business Leadership from the Swiss Business School.

Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Tanzania Mortgage Re-financing Company Limited, Chairman of the Board of Umoja Switch Tanzania Ltd., Member of the Governing Council of the Tanzania Bankers Association, Member of the Board of Trustees of the GIMPA Public Sector Management Programme and Member of the Board of Consolidated Bank of Ghana.

Rev. Dr. Owusu-Amoah currently serves on these Boards: Mineral Income and Investment Fund, Ghana Education Trust Fund, National Identification Authority and the National Security Council.

Recently, he has received several awards, including in recognition of a number of bold initiatives in areas such as digitalisation and tax reforms introduced at the GRA under his leadership, resulting in significant milestones.
