Professor Emmanuel Asamoah
Prof. Emmanuel Selase Asamoah is a researcher and an academic with passion for practical oriented research. He has over 30 publications in the form of books, peer reviewed journals and international conferences. He has also authored two books. He is mainly interested in areas of competitiveness and performance for firms as well as value creation and cost reduction at the microeconomic and macroeconomic levels. He has taught management and research based courses and supervised students at the Bachelors, Masters and PhD levels in Ghana and abroad. He has worked in a number of capacities both in Ghana and abroad in industries such as insurance, education, project management, marketing, outsourcing and logistics. He has also consulted for a number of public and private sector organization in Ghana and abroad in the area of management research, cost reduction and value generation.
He has attended and presented papers in several conferences in Africa, Asia and Europe. Dr. Asamoah has published in internationally rated journals like Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendeleianae Brunensis, International Journal of Contemporary Management and Journal of Competitiveness. His papers are scanned in SCOPUS, Thomson Reuters and other reputable databases. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration of the Faculty of Management at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. Dr. Asamoah was a Visiting Lecturer at the Tomas Bata University in Zlin where he consulted on research and delivered lectures to students enrolled on the Masters programme in Economics and Management. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Galilee International Management Institute in Israel. He served as the Head of Department of Business Administration of the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He is currently a Senior Lecturer and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. Dr. Asamoah is expected to be called to the bar as a lawyer in October 2019

My research interest is primarily in the application of economics principles in Management and Marketing. It covers Strategic management and the firm’s competitiveness, Market structures and the firms’ competitiveness, Competitive Strategy, Competitiveness and economic development, Clusters and Competitiveness, Macroeconomic factors and the performance and competitiveness of firms and countries, Strategic Leadership, Internal Marketing, Mass production and mass customization, Management and Marketing strategies for SMEs, Value creation and cost reduction in business operations, Cultural issues in Brand management for enterprise competitiveness, International business operations, Consumer behaviour and the firms competitiveness
Teaching Interests
