Professor Daniel Sakyi
Daniel Sakyi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, and a Volkswagen Foundation Postdoctoral Senior Fellow. Additionally, he serve as (ii) a regional trade expert/consultant, (ii) Associate Editor for Foreign Trade Review, (iii) expert trainer for Biennial Review reporting on 2014 Malabo Declaration on accelerated agriculture growth and transformation for shared prosperity and improved livelihoods in Africa facilitated by the African Union Commission and the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency, and (iv) member of African Growth and Development Policy Modeling Consortium (AGRODEP) facilitated by AKADEMIYA2063.
Daniel Sakyi holds BA in Economics and Geography from KNUST, Erasmus Mundus joint MA in Economics of International Trade and European Integration from University of Antwerp, Belgium, and PhD in Economics from University of Pisa, Italy. His research interests lie mainly in the area of development macroeconomics, international trade and finance, and regional integration with a focus on Africa and the developing world at large. He has benefited from research grants from a number of international organizations including the Volkswagen Foundation, the African Capacity Building Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and International Development Research Centre, the International Growth Centre, and the African Economic Research Consortium.
